Newspaper transcript –Private Daniel McGregor, 228 King Street, Rutherglen, has received official intimation that his eldest son, Private Daniel McGregor, 1st Cameron Highlanders, was killed in the recent heavy fighting in the advance in France. He was 20 years of age, and previous to enlisting was employed by Mr William Watson, grocer, Main Street, and afterwards in the Post Office, Rutherglen.

Also commemorated on the memorial in West Parish Church, Rutherglen.
