Newspaper transcript – Rutherglen Officer Killed. Mr and Mrs Robert H. Brown, 20 Watson Avenue, Rutherglen, have been notified that their son, Second Lieutenant William Clark Brown, Royal Scots, was killed on May 21. Lieut. Brown was 20 years of age. After service in Egypt he received a commission about a year ago. Another son, Captain George Brown, K.O.S.B., when a second lieutenant was awarded the Military Cross.
