Newspaper transcript – Mrs T Hardie, 7 Victoria Street, Rutherglen, has received intimation of the death of her brother, Private John White, 2nd Battalion, Cameronians, B. Company, who was killed at Neuve Chapelle.
Private White, who enlisted in the army in 1911, and saw service in Egypt, was drafted to France from Malta. He was the third son of the late Mr. Robert White, mason, Hamilton Road, Rutherglen.
