Newspaper transcript –Ā Pte. J. N. Thomson, Rutherglen. Mr and Mrs Robert Thomson, 26 Regent Street, Rutherglen, have received intimation that their son, Private John Noon Thomson, Royal Engineers, transferred to the Northumberland Fusiliers, reportedĀ missing on March 21, was killed on that date, He was 28 years of age, and was previously a sign writer with Mr Stirling, Springburn.

* I believe this is the correct soldier as the address in the Rutherglen Lore book is the same as the address on the WWI Pension Records. In the Rutherglen Lore book it states he was in the Royal Engineers which in the photograph above it appears to be their cap badge he is wearing.
