Newspaper transcript – Pte. C. Anderson, Glasgow. Mr James Anderson 51 Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen, has received official intimation that his third son, Pte. Charles Anderson, North Staffs, was killed in action on May 30, 1917. Pte. Anderson joined before he was 18 years of age, but was discharged late. He joined the Royal Engineers in November, 1915. Previous to enlisting he was employed as a patternmaker, at Alley and MacLellan’s, Polmadie.
