Newspaper transcript – Cpl. E. Cowan, Rutherglen. Intimation has been received by Mr and Mrs John Cowan, 7 Harriet Street, Ruthergle, that their son, Lance-Corporal Edward Cowan, H.L.I., was killed on September 27. He was 21 years of age, and prior to enlisting was employed at Messrs Singer’s Works at Clydebank.
