Newspaper transcript – Mr and Mrs Gibson, 5 Barnflat Street, Rutherglen have received official word that their son, Private Hugh Gibson, Cameron Highlanders, attached to the Royal Engineers, has been killed in action. Prior to enlisting at the beginning of August, 1915, Private Gibson, who was 25 years of age, was employed at the North British Locomotive Works.
