Newspaper transcript – Pte. H. Haughen, Glasgow. Pte. Hugh Haughen, Scottish Rifles, who died while on active service recently, was formerly employed as a saddler in the Boag Leather Works, Bridgeton. He was 24 years of age, and has left a widow and child, who reside at 30 Gilmour Street, Oatlands.

Newspaper transcript – Mrs Haughen, 67 Glasgow Road, Rutherglen, has received intimation that her eldest son, Pte. Daniel Haughen, Royal Scots, was killed in action in France on 12th October last. Previous to enlisting Pte. Haughen was employed by Wm. Dixon, Ltd.
Mrs Haughen’s youngest son, Pte. Hugh Haughen, Scottish Rifles, died in Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow, on the 10th January, 1918, of peritonitis and appendicitis. Previous to enlisting, Pte. Hugh Haughen was employed as a practical saddler for a period of eight years with Messrs. George J. Govan & Son, saddlers, Rutherglen.

Brother of Daniel Haughan.
