Newspaper transcript – Mrs Douglas, 430 Webster Street, has received official intimation that her husband, Private John Douglas, Seaforth Highlanders, died at the Persian Gulf through the effects of heat. He was 38 years of age. Prior to the war he was employe in Messrs Dixon’s Collieries (No. 6 Pit) as a miner.
