Newspaper transcript – Pte. J Maxwell, Garnkirk. Official intimation has been received by Mr Maxwell, Low Row, Garnkirk, that their son, Private John Maxwell, Cameron Highlanders, was killed in action on April 16, 1918. He was 23 years of age, and was employed as a miner in  Auchengeich Colliery.
