Newspaper transcript – Information has been received by Mrs Moffat, 5 Burn Road, Rutherglen, that her son, Pte. J. Moffat, of the 1st Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders, was killed in action on 16th April at the taking of Hill 60. Pte. Moffat, who was 20 yard of age, had served three years in the Army. He was employed with Mr Chalmers, of the Rutherglen Shipbuilding Company, before he enlisted.
