Newspaper transcript – Official intimation has been received by Mr and Mrs Sharp, 7 Kildale Street, Rutherglen that their son, Private John Sharp, 1st Irish Fusiliers was killed in action at Ypres on April 25. Deceased was employed in Messrs J and J White’s chemical works, Rutherglen and was ? part in the South African campaign. He leaves a widow and two young children.
