Newspaper transcript – Rutherglen. – Private Robert Love, 1st Gordon Highlanders, who belongs to Rockland, Rutherglen, has been missing since 14th December last. He took part in a gallant charge by his regiment on that day, and the worst is feared. He is 28 years of age, and joined the colours last September.

Newspaper transcript –Mrs Love, Rockland, Rutherglen, has received intimation that her son, Private Robert Love, Gordon Highlanders, previously reported missing, is now officially reported killed on or since December 14 1914. Private Love, who was 28 years of age, enlisted at the outbreak of war, and was sent to France in November 1914. Prior to enlisting he was employed as an assistant engineer at Rochdale, England. Mrs Love has another son serving with the colours.
