Newspaper transcript – Mr Wm. Gary, 40 Hamilton Road, Rutherglen, has received official information that his only son,  Private Robert T Gray, H.L.I., was killed in action. Previous to joining the Army he was an assistant ? in the Inland Revenue Office, Glasgow.

Also commemorated on the memorial at Stonelaw Parish Church, Rutherglen and on the family headstone in Rutherglen Cemetery.

Headstone transcript – Also their son Pte. Robert T Gray 16th H.L.I. killed in action in France 1st July 1916 aged 24 years.
