Newspaper transcript – Mr D. Barrie, 132 Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen, has received intimation that his son, Private Thomas Barrie, Royal Scots Fusiliers, died of wounds received in action. He was 20 years of age, and before enlisting was a grocer’s assistant to Mr Inglis, Rutherglen. A brother was killed at Loos.

Also commemorated on the memorial at East Parish Church, Rutherglen.
