Newspaper transcript – George Yardly (24), 10th Highland Light Infantry, killed in France on 14th December, was the husband of Mrs Yardly, 3 Barnflat Street, Rutherglen. Drafted to France in March 1915, he was gassed on the 25th September, and had been only three weeks in France after furlough at home when he met his death. Prior to enlisting he was with the Clyde Coal Company, Cambuslang.
