Newspaper transcript – Weir. – Lost his life while on duty on on of H.M. ships, William Miller Weir, wireless telegraphist, aged 18 years and 3 months, beloved elder son of Robert and Elizabeth Weir, 132 Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen, and grandson of the late William Weir, Bankfoot, Lesmahagow, and the late James and Rebecca Sandilands, 6 Lockhart Street, Stonehouse.

We little thought when he left home,
He would no more 
That he in death so soon would sleep,
And leave us here to mourn.
