Newspaper transcript – Intelligence has been received of the death of Lance Corpora Wm. Montgomery Samson, who resided with his parents in Rutherglen. He was killed in action while serving with the 11th Highland (Sutherland) Infantry. He was employed at the Clydesdale Tube Works before joining the Army. Two brothers, Sergeant C. M. Samson and Private Hamilton Samson, are also in the Army fighting at the front.
