Newspaper transcript – Mrs Wm. Scott, 13 Woodlands, Milngavie, has received official intimation of the death of her husband, Sergeant Wm. Scott, 1-7th H.L.I., who was killed in action at the Dardanelles on November 21. Before leaving for Gallipoli on May 15 he was employed as private gardener to Sir James Fleming, Rutherglen. He leaves a widow and three young children. Mrs Scott has three brothers serving with th 1-9th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, Private Andrew Ness, Private William Ness, and Private Tom Ness, two of whom are at present stationed in France.
