Simpson Family
My research into the Simpson family lineage leads me back to Robert Simpson, whose birth is estimated to have occurred around 1735 in Ayrshire, potentially Irvine. He entered into matrimony with Agnes Crawford, who’s ancestry boasts a more extensive traceability. Agnes was born on 20 May 1739 in Irvine, the daughter of William Crawford and Mary Cochrane. Delving deeper into her lineage reveals that her paternal grandparents were John Crawford and Agnes Boyle, while her maternal grandparents were Robert Cochrane and Agnes Stirret. Robert and Agnes had a least four children. The one member of the family that there are further records on is Robert Simpson who married Margaret Reid this marriage bore ten children.
